From emerging painter to video game artist - Art Ignites Panel Talk about Getting to Live a Creative

Updated: Apr 18, 2019

So, you decide to be an artist, now what?

A creative field is a diverse one with many paths to take to live a creative life. As a young person deciding to pursue the arts as a career can, at times, be a little daunting with questions about choosing the right path.

The inaugural Art Ignites Panel Talk will bring together five creatives working in multi-media, digital, acrylic to art therapy and art education, and discuss what it means to be an artist in today’s environment and learn about the path they’ve taken to reach their individual goals. Meet two of the panellists that will be part of the discussion.

Her path was not a straight one, and emerging young artist Tara Lupovici will tell you how, even after designing a line of women’s clothing, she eventually went back to her foremost passion - painting. As part of the Art Ignites Panel Talk this year, Tara will discuss carving her own path and how she is evolving as an artist. Tara will also be showing at the Art Vancouver’s International Art Fair, so make sure you drop by her booth to say hello!

Even as an artist working in the video game industry for the last 19 years, Jude Godin’s artistic beginnings started with watercolour and pencil. But after discovering digital media, he forged ahead in this technique and never looked back. Jude will be joining the panel talk on Friday afternoon, and share with us his vast experience in the ever-changing digital platform.

The Art Ignites Panel Talk is on Friday, April 26th at 2:00 pm. Join us as we bring Tara, Jude and 3 other speakers from different creative fields to talk about their inspirations and how they navigated their individual artistic path. A Q&A session will follow the discussion. We hope to see you there!

Art Ignites is a youth-centred art fair experience that operates under the umbrella of Art Vancouver. Art ignites runs on April 26 from 1 PM to 5 PM under the sail at Canada Place.
